FAQ about shipping parcels

Do I have to register?

No, you do not have to register. However, registration does offer several advantages. For example, you will not be required to fill in your shipment details for every parcel shipment. You can also make use of the address book feature and consult an overview of all your shipments.

To what requirements do parcels need to comply?

Make sure your parcel shipment meets our requirements:

  • Parcels may not weigh more than 20 kg. The maximum permitted dimensions are 100 (L) x 50 (W) x 50 (H) in cm. For a ParcelLetter different measurements apply. A ParcelLetter may not be larger than 38 (L) x 26.5 (W) x 3.2 (H) in cm. -
  • The parcel must have a DPD parcel label.
  • The parcel label is printed on white paper.
  • Attach the parcel label firmly on the parcel but don't put tape over the bar code.
  • Always use decent packaging materials. Parcels must be sealed with tape and may not be torn or leaking. Make sure the contents of your parcel cannot shift.

What is ParcelLetter?

Thanks to ParcelLetter you can ship your smallest parcels at the best rate! The maximum permitted dimensions for a ParcelLetter are 38 (L) X 26,5 (B) X 3,2 (H) in cm. Parcels may not weigh more than 3 kg. Standard delivery procedure with Predict notification and proof of delivery are included (excl. The Netherlands).

Can I also buy a parcel label at a Pickup parcelshop?

You can also take your parcel to a Pickup parcelshop and buy a parcel Label directly in the shop.

How much does it cost to ship a parcel through a Pickup parcelshop?

The shipping prices depends on the destination. A price list can be found here.

Can I ship a parcel to another Pickup parcelshop?

Yes, it is possible to ship a parcel from a Pickup parcelshop to another Pickup parcelshop. The recipient will be informed when his parcel is ready for pick up.

How does the recipient know that his parcel is ready for pick up in a Pickup parcelshop?

When you ship a parcel to a Pickup parcelshop we will inform your recipient by email or text message when the parcel is ready for pick up. The parcel will be held in a Pickup parcelshop for 8 calendar days.

Where can I ship my parcel?

At the Pickup parcelshop you can ship your parcels to addresses in Belgium and Europe. It is not possible to ship parcels to a PO Box or an address on an island.

Can I ship a parcel to a PO Box?

No, you cannot ship a parcel to PO Box addresses

Is it possible to ship a parcel to an island?

No, that is not possible. But the United Kingdom and Ireland are an exception, we do deliver there.

What do I have to enter as ZIP code if I'd like to ship a parcel to an island?

If you want to send a parcel to Ireland we ask you to enter "1" as a zip code and "2" for the other cities because Ireland has no postal code system.

How long is a DPD parcel label valid?

Once you print a label, you must use it within 10 calendar days.

How can I pay for the DPD parcel label?

You pay for the parcel label online via Adyen.

Where can I find a Pickup parcelshop?

You can find the Pickup parcelshop nearest to you here.

Is my parcel insured?

Your parcel is insured against loss and damage according to the CMR-conditions. Use the option ‘Higher insurance’ to insure your parcel up to 520 EUR.

Will I receive a proof of shipment?

You will receive the shipping instructions with the parcel label. This also states the number of parcels and the parcel numbers in your shipment. This document is signed by the Pickup parcelshop. It is also your proof of shipment.

Does DPD use track and trace?

Yes, you can track your parcel online with the parcel number via track and trace at www.dpd.lu. Click here to track your parcel immediately.

How do I know when a parcel has been delivered?

DPD uses track and trace. You can always track your parcel at www.dpd.lu using the parcel number. You can see whether the parcel has been delivered in the parcel delivery history.

What happens if the parcel cannot be delivered?

Has the recipient refused the parcel? Or is it not possible to deliver the parcel for another reason? Then we will return the parcel to you. We will not charge any additional fees for this but you will not be refunded the shipping costs.

Which requirements must my parcel meet?

Your parcel should be firmly packed and sealed with tape, and the packaging may not be torn or leaking. Make sure the contents of your parcel cannot shift about.
